Global Drone Forum

Harnessing Drone Innovation for a Sustainable Future

The Global Drone Forum is a platform for advancing the responsible use of drone technologies across sectors including conservation, health, logistics, agriculture, and disaster response. We bring together policymakers, researchers, innovators, and industry leaders to share knowledge, align efforts, and scale impact.

Upcoming Events: Global Drones in Nature Conservation (G-DiNC 2026)

Join us in Nairobi from 3–6 March 2026 for a global symposium on drones and sensing for biodiversity conservation, hosted in partnership with WildDrone and Nature Drones

Global Drone Regulation Database and Drone use in Ecology & Conservation

This database is comprised of a country directory with summaries and/or links to national drone laws and drone activities associated with ecology and conservation.
The objective is to provide humanitarian and non-humanitarian actors with a database of relevant national regulations, additional resources, and links to original regulatory documents to ensure that drones are deployed safely and in compliance with national regulations.

African Drone Forum

The African Drone Forum ADF was a multi-stakeholder engagement programme that took place in 2020 in Rwanda with the Lake Kivu Challenge LKC, to help advance the safe implementation of electric cargo UAS transport, digital aviation solutions & related infrastructure.
It followed on from the Lake Victoria Challenge LVC held in Mwanza Tanzania in 2018:  explored the emerging transportation technologies that can leapfrog Africa’s infrastructure deficit and address the continent’s infrastructure, public health and mobility challenges with a visionary, safe and scalable solution
